B. PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION
1. On April 10, 1969 the Board of Trustees approved the plans and related documents prepared by Kellam and Foley and authorized the solicitation of bids by contractors.
2. Bids were received on June 17, 1969 (T).
3. On July 31, 1969 the Board of Trustees awarded contracts to the following contractors:
General: XL Corporation
Electrical: Blum & Son Electric, Inc.
Heating, ventilating, & air conditioning: Limbach Co.
Plumbing: Sauer, Inc.
Library equipment: Estey Corp.
4. Completion and occupancy:
According to Alan Evans, Media Consultant at the Learning Resources Center, the staff moved into the building on September 14, 1971 and students were first served at the beginning of the Autumn Quarter. However, the lower level was not opened until 1972.
