B. PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION
1. On May 11, 1967 the Board of Trustees approved the plans and related documents prepared by A.M.
Kinney Associates and authorized the solicitation of bids by contractors.
2. Bids were received on September 6, 1967 and March 15, 1968 (T).
3. On April 11, 1968 the Board of' Trustees approved the award of contracts to the following contractors:
General: Sheaf Construction Co.
Electrical: States Electric Co.
Heating, ventilating and air conditioning: Sam P. Wallace Co.
Plumbing:Gesling Co.
Laboratory Equipment: Royal School Laboratories
Automatic Controls: Honeywell, Inc.
Insulation: Sam P. Wallace Co.
4. Completion and occupancy:
Released for occupancy in stages atarting with the first three floors in August 1970. On December 14, 1970 all classrooms and laboratories were released for occupancy (p).

ADDENDUM NO. 3 - RENAMING
On June 1, 1991, The Board of Trustees resolved that the new combined Biological Science Building and Parks Hall building should be named "Vernal G Riffe, Jr.
Bldg."
ADDENDUM NO. 4 - ADDITION
On September 2, 1992; contract were awarded for the addition of approximately 115,000 GSF to connect Parks Hall and the Biological Sciences Building. This addition will provide teaching and research space and will house a new combined library, computer center, chemical instrumentation center, fermentation laboratory, new research laboratories, and faculty offices.
Contracts were awarded as follows:

HVAC: Bruner Corp., Columbus, Ohio
Electric: Buckeye Electric, Dayton, Ohio
Asbestos Abatement: U.S. Abatement Inc., Hamilton, Ohio
