This is one of two buildings at this address leased by the University for the proposed research park.
The other building on the site is included in these reports as Building S 109.
The lease of these buildings, with an option to purchase, was authorized by the Board of Trustees on October 5, 1984. During a discussion earlier in the same meeting, this building was referred to as the "FMC" building, which .is an abbreviation of "Ford Machinery Corporation."
This building is a one-story, factory building with a steel frame and concrete block exterior walls. Campus Planning records indicate that it has 52,036 sq. ft. of gross area and 47,919 sq. ft. of net assignable area. Drawings prepared by Sims, Cornelius, & Schooley indicate that the building was constructed in the latter half of 1950 for the Scott Viner Co. A concrete block paint room, 24 ft. x 36 ft., was added at an unknown later date at the south end of the east wall.

The university has leased this building to provide space for tenants of the research park. The University needs to purchase to provide space for research park tenants. The former lease had an option to buy for $750,000.
