3.4 Present area of building as shown in inventory records of Office of Campus Planning & Space Utilization:
56,684 sq. ft. gross; 43,529 sq. ft. net assignable
1. Plans on file in the Office of Campus Planning & Space Utilization indicate that the building was designed in 1945 by Sims, Cornelius, & Schooley for the Allis-Chalmer's Manufacturing Co.
2. An addendum dated June 27, 1945 and a sewer & water plan dated July 1945 suggest that the building was constructed during the summer of 1945.
3. The Board of Trustees on October 5, 1984 authorized the purchase of this building as part of the proposed research park.

This building is currently being remodeled to house the Edison Welding Institute. The award of contracts was reported to the Board of Trustees on February 7, 1986.
