1. On July 5, 1922 the Board of Trustees approved the plans and related documents prepared by Joseph N. Bradford, University Architect, and authorized the solicitation of bids by contractors.
2. Bids were received on September 7, 1922 (T).
3. On September 8, 1922 the Board of Trustees rejected all bids and instructed the architect to re-study the plans.
4. Revised plans were approved by the Board of Trustees on January 11, 1923 and the solicitation of new bids was authorized.
5. New bids were received on February 20, 1923 (T).
6. On March 6, 1923 the Board of Trustees awarded contracts to the following contractors:
General: D. W. McGrath & Sons
Electrical: Electric Power Equipment Co.
Heating & Plumbing: Huffman-Wolfe Co.
7. Completion and occupancy:
1. Faculty Club Space
When the Faculty Club moved to its new building (028), the third floor space was remodeled for administrative office use. Plans were approved by the Board of Trustees on April 8, 1940. Bids were received on June 26, 1940 (A). The Board of Trustees on July 27, 1940 approved earlier Cabinet action awarding contracts. The final estimate on the project is dated November 5, 1940 (A).
2. Atrium
Plans for closing the atrium between the second and third floors were approved by the Board of Trustees September 9, 1960 and Phase I contract was awarded by Board action on November 11, 1960. This was followed by two other phases to complete the development of the new space thus created. The last contracts were awarded by the Board on June 8, 1961. The work was completed on November 18, 1961 (A).
The new space in the former atrium and the remodeled space around it were assigned for use by the Office of Campus Planning in three stages beginning September 22, 1961 and ending December 18, 1961 (P).
3. Basement
Pipes and ducts in the basement were removed or relocated and the space was developed for office use. The work was done by the OSU Service Department under a $35, 000 purchase order dated September 3, 1964 (A). Campus Planning assigned the space for use on December 28, 1964 (P).
1. By June 30, 1926, when all bills for the initial construction had been paid, costs had accrued to a total of $456, 369. 61.
2. In 1940-41, when remodeling was undertaken following the removal of the Faculty Club, additional costs of $12, 299. 23 were incurred, bringing the cumulative total to $468, 668. 84.
3. Between July 1, 1960 and June 30, 1971, there were net additional costs of $462, 298. 78, bringing the cumulative total to $930, 967. 62.
1. Initially the entire third floor was used by the Faculty Club.
2. Initially a large room at the northwest corner of the first floor was used as a faculty assembly room.

Address changed in June, 1975 to 190 North Oval Mall, reflecting the fact that most of North Oval Drive had been converted to a pedestrian mall.
Photoarchives has a postal card designating this building as the "New Administration Building," as distinguished from University Hall (088) which was sometimes referred to as the Administration Building.
